Safe Roads Singapore Campaign For the month of May 2011

Please refer to the post below. Each event will need about 30 cadets from either Sec 2 or 3. Cadets must be in NPCC Full Uniform and their duty will be helping out the pledge collection booth for the public attending the events and assist in distributing flyers and disseminating road safety messages.
Think the only available date in May will be 22nd May (Sun). If no cadets are interested to help out, it is alright as there will be other events from June to Aug 2011. But it will be good to help out once especially for Sec 3s for us to build up portfolio for SPF-NPCC. Thank you.

"Safe Roads Singapore is the campaign to promote road safety in Singapore. In support of the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety, Singapore Road Safety Council (SRSC), AA Singapore and People’s Association have come together to organise a nationwide pledge gathering campaign, called ‘Safe Roads Singapore’. The campaign will run from March to September and it is supported by the Traffic Police. More details can be found on www.saferoads.sg.

We are calling for all stakeholders and the community in Singapore to support this good cause that is aimed at preventing the further and unnecessary loss of lives due to road traffic accidents. Road safety is not the responsibility of any single stakeholder, but it takes the collective efforts of everybody to help make our roads safer and more pleasant for all.

We have planned out some campaign activities, and would like to request for volunteers from NPCC to support in the collection of pledges. The objective is to have these volunteers as campaign ambassadors to bring the Safe Road messages across to the community at the following campaign activities:

22 May – NUS Science Coop Charity Run cum Mini Carnival, East Coast Park Big splash Playground, 7 am – 2pm. (500 pax)

We are now also working out the schedule for June – Aug 2011, and these campaign activities would only be possible with a large volunteer support.

We hope NPCC can support the Safe Roads Singapore Campaign by sending student volunteers to help to communicate and disseminate the road safety messages as well as assist in the collection of pledges.

We look forward to hearing from you soon and your kind support in this meaningful cause. Thank you"

Please get back to me ASAP( means by WEDNESDAY LATEST) and state your interest. I hope to hear favourable responses from you all.

Thank You!

-Ernest
